A full closure of Highway 18 between Big Bear Dam and Snow Valley began Oct. 6 will run through Oct. 31.
The closure will go from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday for roadwork. There will be no Friday closures, Caltrans said.
Motorists are advised to use Highway 38 from I-10 in Redlands or Highway 18 down the back side to Lecerne Valley.
Crews will be cleaning cuts and removing side material from previous weather events, according to the media advisory issued by Caltrans District 8.
Caltrans advises that paving work continues on Highway 38. Flagging will be in place which may cause some minor delays on the Highway 38 detour.
The roadwork is contracted by All American Asphalt and part of a $10 million Highway 38 rehabilitation project between Forest Falls and Greenway Drive in Big Bear.
The rehab project calls for guardrail installation and rolled asphalt, which requires a rest period of up to two hours during which no traffic access is allowed.
Scheduled work hours of the project are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m with one -way traffic control in place at both the paving and the guardrail installation locations.
