CAT Scale Company this week announced the opening of its 1,500th truck scale. The scale opened on January 30, 2014 at the Love’s truck stop, located at I-15 and Exit 260 in Springville, Utah.
The first CAT Scale was installed in 1977 in South Holland, Illinois. Ten years later, there were 28 CAT Scale locations in the U.S.
There are now more 1,500 CAT Scale locations acres 47 states and 7 Canadian provinces.
“When we started CAT Scale I don’t think my dad ever envisioned we’d have 1,500 scales in operation,” says Delia Moon Meier, Senior Vice President. “We appreciate our continued partnership with Love’s Country Stores and the Love Family.”
CAT Scale offers a guarantee to drivers: “If a driver receives an overweight fine after weighing legal on a CAT brand scale, CAT Scale Company will either pay the fine or appear in court with the driver as an expert witness in order to get the fine dismissed. In either scenario, the driver is covered by the guarantee and does not have to pay the fine, as long as they weighed on a CAT brand scale prior to receiving the citation.”
