Driver Arrested For Stashing Marijuana In Load To Church’s Chicken

Two men face charges after allegedly stashing 130 pounds of marijuana and several kilograms of cocaine in a load of hot sauce for ‘Church’s Chicken.’

The load was inspected by police at the Gallup, New Mexico port of entry, off of I-40 on the eastbound side.

The drivers arrested have been identified as 33-year-old Javaris Blake of Rock Hills, and Cedric Byrd of California. Both have been charged with trafficking and possession of a controlled substance. Blake was the driver of the truck.

The truck belonged to a Carolina-based cargo company.
