Driver Injured Trying To Keep Rig From Rolling Into Playground

An Australian truck driver was seriously injured yesterday (Thursday) morning around 10:20 a.m. while trying to prevent a runaway rig from crashing through a playground.

According to authorities, the driver obtained serious leg injuries when he was run over while trying to stop his loaded truck from rolling our of a Kojonup service station.

The tractor trailer collided with another vehicle and a power pole before finally rolling into a playground.

There were no other injuries.

According to a witness who stated that the incident had been very scary, “It looks like it clipped a slide, I think it’s ripped out a bin and it’s flattened a pole or two and now it’s resting on the creek bed.”

“It is a pretty popular playground with the locals and tourists, so to have missed people in that park, ‘divine intervention’ doesn’t give the scenario justice.”

Power lines were also downed due to the crash causing a loss of power for nearly 700 people.
