Explosion At Arkansas Trucking Company Claims One Life

Published:

An explosion at a trucking company in Knoxville, Arkansas has claimed the life of a 33-year-old Clarksville, Arkansas man.

According to Arkansas Online, employees were”using a propane torch to loosen ball valves on the back of the tanker trucks” when the tanker exploded.

Daniel Rice was reportedly struck by a metal hatch plate.

The tanker was used to haul wastewater from drilling sites, KFSM reported. A press release from the Johnson County sheriff’s office states that it is likely that methane gas had built up in the tank, triggering the explosion.

The accident occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Friday at Quick Transports Inc.

No one else was injured in the explosion.
