Indiana Toll Road authorities have issued a winter weather ban for all triple-trailers, long-doubles, high-profile oversize permit loads and steel haulers.
The ban takes effect at 11:00 p.m. on Monday. The ban will re reevaluated on Tuesday, January 21, at 11:00 a.m.
The trucks will be banned from traveling the Indiana Toll Road from Valparasio Exit (MP 30) to South Bend West Exit (MP 72).

The National Weather Service has issued a Lake Effect Snow Watch affecting travel across the Indiana Toll Road.
* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS IN EXCESS OF 6 INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS FAR WESTERN ST. JOSEPH COUNTY WITHIN A NARROW BUT INTENSE LAKE EFFECT SNOW BAND. LIGHT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED ACROSS THE EASTERN HALF OF THE COUNTY.
* SOME BLOWING AND DRIFTING WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH NORTH WINDS OF 10 TO 20 MPH.
* MAIN IMPACT...HEAVY SNOW WITH SNOWFALL RATES OF 1 TO 3 INCHES PER HOUR ARE POSSIBLE.
* VISIBILITIES MAY BE REDUCED TO ONE QUARTER MILE OR LESS. ROADS MAY BECOME SNOW COVERED...SLICK AND HAZARDOUS.

Beginning at 11 p.m. CST Jan. 20, 2014, the winter weather ban will be in effect until 11 p.m. CST Tuesday, Jan. 21. This ban is in effect from Exit 31 (Valpo) through Exit 72 (SB West).
