Massive Fire Destroys KY Trucking Company

Published:

A trucking company in Preston, Kentucky caught on fire and destroyed the entire building.

According to Prestonsburg Fire Chief Bobby Carpenter, it took 70 firefighters from 13 departments to put out the fire of Worldwide Equipment, located off KY-1428.

“(It was) probably one of the hardest commercial fires we have fought in a while,” Carpenter told WSAZ News Channel 3. “The humidity, the heat, accessibility, and water supply was a major issue in this fire,” he said.

The fire, which first spread throughout the ceiling, many have started on the second floor of the building where parts are made. Safety concerns forced crews to evacuate before the fire was extinguished. Luckily, no one was injured.

Worldwide Equipment considers the incident a total loss.
