Minnesota Driver Killed In Collision With Train

A 47-year-old Graceville, Minnesota driver identified as Bradley Vold, was killed in an accident involving a freight train on Tuesday, January 28th.

The accident occurred in Herman, Minnesota around 2:00 p.m. According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Department, the truck was loaded with soybeans and headed east down Third Street when it collided with a northbound BNSF train.

Vold’s tractor was detached from the trailer, and was pushed by the train for nearly 1,500 feet.

The accident is currently under investigation by the Grant County Sheriff’s Department and the Minnesota State Patrol.

Funeral services for Bradley Vold will be held in Graceville, Minnesota on Saturday, February 1, 2014.

Driver, Jason Nygaard (who submitted photos of the accident to CDLLife) sensitively remarked regarding the accident, “It’s sad – but should be a reminder we need to always know what’s going on around us on the road.”
