FedEx driver, Don Logan was named ‘Grand Champion’ at the 2012 annual Bendix National Truck Driving Championships in Minneapolis – we recently came across an interview with Logan, and knew that we had to share some of his insightful advice.

Logan is a six-time Kansas state champion – which includes a written test, a driving course, and a visual inspection test.

400 drivers competed competed for the ‘Grand Champion’ title this year.

Logan drives around 100,000 miles per year, and has 2,180,000 accident-free miles under his belt over the course of his 25-year career.

In an interview with FOX News, Logan offered a few quick tips – encouraging motorists to keep their distance from others out on the roadway, and to focus on the task at hand (driving). Logan discourages distractions such as text messages, phone calls, and even allowing the radio to cause drivers to take their eyes off of the road. He also encourages drivers to be well-rested, to give plenty of notice signaling before lane changes, and to stay out of the NO ZONE when driving around tractor-trailers.
