New Book Provides ‘Cynical, Hard Look’ at Being a Truck Driver

Published:

A new book,  New to OTR: A Guide for New Company Over the Road Truck Drivers by Chris Aragon will soon be hitting the shelves.

The book is said to provide a “somewhat cynical, and slightly gruff look at the everyday tasks and responsibilities of being an over the road truck driver as an employee of a very large trucking company.”

The book is said to dispel the Hollywood-version of what’s it’s like to be a truck driver and provides a “hard toned look” at what’s it’s actually like to be a truck driver in a “highly-regulated” industry.

Road safety is said to be the central point of the book, and Aragon’s book works to explain the complexity of the trucking industry for non-owner operators.

“Over The Road Truck Driver as an employee of a very large trucking company. Hollywood has always painted the public picture of what yesterday’s trucker looked like, but Chris’s hard toned look at the modern and highly-regulated Commercial Drivers License paints a much different picture,” a press release about the book states.

While the book is critical of the industry, it’s said to contain a bit of humor about the industry.

The 100-page book retails for $22.00 and is available at  www.dorrancepressroom.com or online atwww.rosedogbookstore.com.
