A new futuristic tram has been recently introduced in Moscow! Uralvagonzavod, the company responsible for the production of the new transportation system reviled the technology at Innoprom-2014 (Russia’s main industrial trade fair).
This tram, which has been deemed the ‘R1’ or ‘Russia One’ runs for 50 kilometers on battery power. The transportation device also features an overhanging nose in it’s cabin, giving it’s driver a 30% wider view.
‘R1’ is intended to carry 190-270 passengers, and is relatively cost-efficient to produce. The tram’s body is made of Russian-made bogies (where the wheels and rails meet) and composition materials.
