The American Trucking Association today announced it is seeking nominations for professional truck drivers to serve on the 2015-2016 America’s Road Team.
American’s Road Team Captains are chosen every two years. The captains are professional truck driver who serve as ambassadors for the trucking industry.
Ambassadors spend a few days each month to meet with the public, news outlets, students, transportation officials and law makers to act as a representative for the trucking industry and a model safe driving habits.
In addition, Road Team Captains appear at events ranging from driver safety meetings to National Truck Driving Championships to reinforce the importance of safety and professionalism in our industry.
“America’s Road Team are great ambassadors for our industry,” said ATA President and CEO Bill Graves. “They have represented all segments of trucking and every region of the country and I look forward to this new team continuing to reflect that diversity.”
For nearly 30 years, America’s Road Team Captains have educated millions throughout the country on the importance of safety. By educating the motoring public, business and community leaders, professional truck drivers, public officials and the media, the America’s Road Team Captains make a difference.
