North America’s First 60′ Trailer To Hit the Road Next Year

A Canadian company has announced plans to deploy North America’s first 60-foot long trailers next year.

Canadian Tire has been granted approval to deploy 4 of the 60-foot trailers.

The trailers are expected to hit the road next year.

The trailers will be pulled by day cabs, the Celadon Enterprise reports.

“The longer container will not exceed the maximum allowable lengths for transport trucks, because Canadian Tire will deploy them on trucks with day cabs only, not the larger version trucks with sleeper cabs on the back,” the Celadon Enterprise reports.

The 4 trucks will run the follow routes: “Toronto-Vancouver; Toronto-Calgary; Toronto-Halifax; and intra-Ontario lanes,” Canadian Shipper reported.
