A tanker hauling 48,000 gallons of syrup leaked some of the liquid sugar compound it was hauling for 15 miles (from Belle Isle Bridge to the I-240 area) on Westbound I-44 before the driver realized what was happening. Unfortunately, the sticky mess coated a number of vehicles on the interstate before the driver was able to stop. The truck was headed to the Braum’s distribution center in Tuttle, Oklahoma. According to a Braum’s spokesperson, the load was refused – and Braum’s did not accept the remaining syrup load. Braum’s is also claiming that they aren’t aware of the name of the trucking company hauling the load – due to the refusal of the shipment. The driver was not ticketed, as he pulled over on his own and was not involved in an accident. The authorities involved have deferred questions regarding the trucking company involved to Braum’s.
