A massive pileup in Indiana has claimed at least two lives.
The pileup occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. this afternoon on Interstate 94 at mile marker 33 near Michigan City, Indiana.
The crash reportedly included 12 trucks and numerous other vehicles. Two people was killed in the crash. Other injuries have been reported, but details have not been released.
The highway is closed down in both directions.
From Indiana Department of Transportation: I-94 LaPorte County Crash Update: We’re hearing that State Police is routing eastbound traffic off at S.R. 49 in Chesterton (Exit 26) I-94, LaPorte County: All lanes closed due to a serious accident at the 35 mile marker. Lake effect snow, blowing snow, and bitterly cold temperatures continue to make many roads dangerously slick. Slow down and use extreme caution.
