Oregon Truck Crash Spills Hundreds Of Apples And Gallons Of Fuel

According to Oregon State Police, there was one injury resulting from yesterday’s apple truck crash in Shaniko.

The accident occurred around 6:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, when ice-covered roads caused the driver to lose control while traveling downhill on Highway 97.

The tractor-trailer rolled over onto its top, causing the trailer to split, and puncturing both fuel tanks. As a result, massive amounts of apples and 140 gallons of diesel spilled out along the roadway and accident scene.

The driver, who has not yet been named was taken to St. Charles Medical Center for minor injuries.
