Retired Truck Driver Wins $200K From Indiana Lottery

Published:

A retired truck driver recently won $200,000 after purchasing a $5 Monopoly scratch-off ticket at a Casey’s General Store in Hartford City, Indiana.

Dan Stults, of Hartford City, never expected to win the cash prize, but he wasted no time claiming it at the Hoosier Lottery headquarters that same day.

“I’m country at heart, and I’ve never needed a lot of money. But I am excited about getting some bills paid and making sure my kids get out of school without any debt,” Stults said in a Hoosier Lottery press release.

Stults said he also plans on using the money for vacations to Maine and San Francisco.

After working in transportation for 40 years, the lucky retiree now spends time working on his ranch in Blackford County and visiting family. He also has friends all over the country he made while driving truck, he said.

Stults was the second winer of a top prize on the $5 Monopoly scratch-off lottery. Seven prize worth $200,000 remain unclaimed for the $5 ticket.
