Reward Increased for Texas Most Wanted Sex Offender

According to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety, a $13,000 reward is being offered for one of Texas’ Most Wanted Sex Offenders.

The Department of Public Safety states that Jerry Don Holmes, 42, is wanted for “failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements, assault and bond surrender forfeiture.”

Authorities said Holmes “has been known” to work in the trucking and boating industries. At this time, it is not known what type of work Holmes performed within the trucking industry.

Holmes has a criminal history of indecency with a child by exposure and assault. The Texas Department of Public Safety reports that in 1996, Holmes was found guilty of Indecency with a Child by Exposure involving a 13-year-old boy.  Holmes was place on 5 years probation.  In 1998, Holmes reportedly violated probation and was sentenced to two years in prison.

In 2011, Holmes reportedly grabbed a family member by the neck and began choking her.

Holmes is 5’9″ tall and weighs 220 pounds.  He has tattoos on his right arm, left leg and left hand.  He has a scar on his forehead.

His last known address was in Pearland, Texas but has ties to several other areas in the state.

A reward of $13,000 is being offered for tips leading to his capture, but the reward amount will only be paid if the tip comes this month.

Texas Department of Public Safety says that if you see this suspect, do not approach him, contact police instead.

Emails and Facebook tip messages are anonymous.Anyone with information can provide anonymous tips in four different ways:

Texas Crime Stoppers, which is funded by the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division, offers cash rewards to any person who provides information that leads to the arrest of one of the Texas 10 Most Wanted fugitives or sex offenders (http://www.dps.texas.gov/texas10mostwanted/).
