South Jersey Waste Management Truck Dumps Flaming Load

A small fire started inside of a Waste Management truck as the driver was making his neighborhood rounds in South Jersey this morning – Monday, September 8, 2014.

According to the Toms River Police, the blaze began around 9:00 a.m. in the parking lot of an apartment complex.

The driver became aware of smoke rising from the back of his truck, while he was turning out of a unit on Colfax.

Upon his realization, the driver quickly dumped his trash load onto the asphalt to save his truck from as much damage as possible.

Two local fire departments promptly arrived to extinguish the flames.

The cause of the fire has not yet been identified.

Fortunately, there were not injuries.
