Swift to Layoff 180 Employees in Washington

Swift Transportation Co. has filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) letter with the Washington Employment Security Department.

The notice states that the company plans to layoff 180 workers at the company’s facility, located at  1336 Dietrich Road in Pasco, Washington.

The WARN was filed on Monday, December 1, 2014.  According to the Washington Employment Security Department, 180 employees will be permanently laid off on January 30, 2015.

The U.S. Department of Labor requires employers to with companies 100 or more employees to “notify affected workers 60 days prior to closures and layoffs” so that they have time to find a new job.

The WARN notice does not indicate which positions will be affected.
