According to Leigh Valley Online, a tanker driver allegedly ignored a detour and attempted to cross the historic Wehr Mill Covered Bridge in South Whitehall Township, Pennsylvania.

The bridge has been closed since July 8 for repairs, and the detour was clearly marked.

The incident occurred on Friday when an 80,000 pound tanker allegedly drove over the bridge.

The bridge has a 20,000 pound weight limit.

Authorities say there is no visible damage to the structure.

At this time, the incident is under investigation, and the truck driver has not been charged.
