Indiana I-94 is shut down in both directions until further notice, near Michigan City and Gary (Indiana).

According to the Indiana State Police, conditions in the area are extremely treacherous – causing a number of vehicles to slide off of the roadway.
This area (a near 40-mile stretch) has been closed in both directions for nearly 24 hours.
Plows have been unable to reach the area due to congested traffic.
