TravelCenters of America today announced that in honor of National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, TA and Petro Stopping Centers are teaming up with the Truckload Carriers Association to host health fairs.

The health fairs will be held at 15 TA and Petro locations on Tuesday, September 16, 2014, from 3-6 p.m, and health walks will take place from 6-7 p.m.

The health fairs will include free blood-pressure and glucose testing, as well as cornhole, basketball, dog washing, pet adoptions, live bands, truck windshield washing, and more.  In addition, sleep apnea specialists and fitness coaches will be on hand. (Activities may vary by location).

  • Petro Ontario, CA (Shawn Hubbard Ontario Stopping Center)
  • TA Wildwood, FL
  • TA Cartersville, GA
  • TA Boise, ID

  • Petro Clearwater, MN
  • TA Binghamton, NY
  • Petro Waterloo, NY
  • TA Lodi, OH
  • TA Harrisburg, PA
  • TA West Greenwich, RI
  • TA Antioch, TN
  • TA New Braunfels, TX

“TA and Petro are uniquely qualified to host these health fairs given their focus on driver health through the StayFit program, launched nearly five ago, to assist professional drivers in getting more healthy and fit. The StayFit program includes healthier meal options at TA and Petro full-service restaurants and better-for-you snack options in the Travel Stores. Additionally, free fitness rooms, walking trails and basketball courts are offered at a variety of locations nationwide. TravelCenters believes that helping to raise awareness of health issues affecting professional truck drivers, as well as helping drivers to make health improvements, is part of showing drivers the respect they deserve,” TravelCenters of America stated in a press release.
