Truck Driver App: Overnight Parking Walmart

A city in Springfield, Illinois, has been issuing a Walmart store thousands of dollars worth of fines for allowing semi trucks to park overnight in its lot.

Have you ever wondered which Walmart locations allow overnight parking?

The app “Overnight Parking Walmart” created by AllStays, integrates with Google Maps to shows all the Walmart locations in the U.S and Canada and tells you if overnight parking is permitted by marking each location with either a yellow “W” or a red “W.’

A yellow “W” means that particular location either allows overnight parking or there are no parking reports, in which case it is assumed the store is parking friendly.

A red “W” indicates that the Walmart location is against overnight parking, in which case it’s advised not to park there. About 1 in 7 stores do not allow overnight parking.

Since some Walmart locations change their overnight policy with variables such as managers, the season or construction, Allstays suggests to contact the store before arriving to verify there parking rules.

When you download the app, you can help keep parking reports accurate by recording your Walmart overnight parking experience so other drivers can be accurately guided.

The company warns, “this is app is only designed to point you in the right direction, saving time and hassle of both the traveler and of any store employees. Information is based on others reports and can change any time at any store.”

This app has received good reviews with 82% of reviewers on the AppCrawler website giving it a positive rating, and Wired Magazine deeming it “Excellent.”
