Truck Driver Credited With Helping End Amber Alert

Police are searching for a 37-year-old emotionally disturbed Pennsylvania woman who is suspected to be in Iowa heading west on Interstate 80. On July 4, Susan Bachman was being driven by her parents to a psychiatric center in Clarion, Pennsylvania when she jumped from the 50-mph moving vehicle and vanished into the woods.

Truck drivers are the eyes and ears of the highway, and they’re often called upon to aid in the search for missing children.

An observant truck driver is being credited with helping bring an end to an Amber Alert that was issued for a missing Mississippi boy.

On Thursday, an Amber Alert was issued for a 4-year-old Pearl, Mississippi boy.

The child was reportedly taken by his father, Richard Green, after an altercation with the child’s mother.  The child’s mother was taken to a hospital for treatment.  Mississippi News Now reported that the child’s mother is “in very bad shape.”

A truck driver heard about the Amber Alert and later spotted a vehicle that matched the suspect vehicle.  The car was parked at a truck stop in Bogue Chitto.

The truck driver alerted authorities.

The child was returned to his mother, and Green was arrested.
