Truck Driver Crushed By His Own Load in California Identified

Trucker crushed by own load after second trucker pulls in front of him

The body of a trucker who was crushed to death by his own cargo last Thursday has been publicly identified as Moises Guerra, 61, of Rancho Cucamonga.

Gurra’s Volvo truck was headed east on the Pomona (60) Freeway at 8:52pm, when a second truck pulled from the side of the road in front of Guerra, according to California Highway Patrol spokesman Darren Meyer.

The second truck’s trailer struck the left side of Guerra’s truck, causing him to loose control and veer off and crash into a ravine.

The accident occurred approximately a qarter mile east of Jack Rabbit Trail, the Riverside County Coroner’s Office reported.

The impact caused Guerra’s multi-ton load of dried food goods to shift forward and crush the cab, killing him instantly, Meyer said.

This happened about a quarter mile east of Jack Rabbit Trail, the Riverside County Coroner’s Office reported.

The second truck driver, Hongwen Yang, 59 of Alhambra, CA has not been not cited pending the results of the investigation.
