Truck Driver Struck and Killed on I-95 in Virginia

A truck driver was struck and killed early Monday morning on Interstate 95 in Virginia.

According to WAVY, the truck driver, Willie A. Ward, 40, was driving northbound on I-95 in Greensville County when he began having issues with his truck.

He pulled onto the shoulder of the road, exited his truck and was then struck by a 2011 Ford box truck that had run off the road.

The box truck continued on and crashed on the U.S. 58 on-ramp and overturned.

The accident occurred at approximately 1:20 am near the U.S. 58 interchange.

The driver of the box truck was not injured.

Ward was taken to a local hospital, where he later died as a result of his injuries.

The driver of the box truck has been charged with reckless driving.
