Truck Driver Struck and Killed While Trying to Help Crash Victims

The Indy Star reports that a good samaritan truck driver who had stopped to help two drivers who were involved in a crash was struck and killed by a truck.

The accident occurred at approximately 3:00 a.m. this morning on I-70 westbound, near the Indianapolis airport.

Shortly after 3:00 a.m., two vehicles crashed, just east of the airport. The truck driver stopped to help. As he was walking toward the crash victims, he was struck and killed.

Westbound I-70 was closed for several hours.

Police are not releasing the names of the victims at this time. No further information about the crash has been released.
