A Maryland truck driver has hit the lottery jackpot not once, but twice!
The truck driver, who has not been identified, won $2.85 million in Maryland’s Multi-Match Christmas day drawing.
Just short of ten years ago, the lucky Parkville, Maryland man won $250,000 in Mega Millions.
“I was here in 2005 when I won a $250,000 second-tier Mega Millions prize,” he said with a smile. “It’s great to be back.”
The 39-year-old truck driver told lottery officials he’s played Multi-Match since the game began and that he buys his tickets from various stores along his route.
In a Monday press release, lottery officials said he purchased the latest winning ticket from a Safeway store in Waldorf.
On Friday, December 26, the unidentified driver logged onto mdlottery.com, checked his numbers and realized he was the winner.
From his 2005 winnings, the driver put a downpayment on his home. He told lottery officials he plans to pay off his house, take a vacation and put money into savings for his children.
Congratulations, driver!
