Trucking Game: Spintires Sells 100K Copies In 2 Weeks

Published:

A new off-road trucking simulator has a lot of gamers talking – and buying. Spintires, developed by Oovee Game Studios, sold over 1000,000 copies of the game in just two weeks.

Hard copies of the game became available in Europe on June 12th, and downloadable copies debuted on Stream June 13, which means it reached the 100,000 milestone in an impressive 18 days.

“The success of Spintires has been prolific! I am very proud that my company and my team have fulfilled the wishes of many — by producing a game for the off-roading genre. Clearly this muddy adventure was a good choice and we will endeavor to improve the platform with free updates and DLC,” said Zane Saxton, Oovee’s managing director, in a press release.

All-terrain and super-realistic, Spintires will have you transporting cargo in a big, Soviet truck through uncompromising Russian territory with nothing but a map and compass. According to many online reviews, the game is not easy. Players have to consider physics, mud, topography deformation, time of day, and realistic driving controls.

Gamers can play solo or with friends. Downloadable copies are available at Steam, Desura, the Humble Store, Green Man Gaming, just to name a few.

Watch as Nerd3 attempts Spintires and gets stuck in the mud in the first 10 seconds. But then he gets out and has some fun..
