Update: Driver Killed At Indiana Truck Stop Identified

Authorities have identified the truck driver who was struck and killed at an Indiana truck stop on Thursday evening as 58-year-old  Billy Evans, of Hill City, Minn.

The accident occurred at the Pilot truck stop located on Interstate 65, near Exit 16.

Employees at the truck stop said Evans purchased a few items at 8:00 p.m. Minutes later, another Pilot employee found Evans lying on the ground.

According to KLKY-TV,  Evans was struck and killed as he was walking his dog.

Two people at the scene attempted to perform CPR on the driver.  When medical officials arrived, they pronounced the driver dead.

Police have reviewed surveillance video from that night but said that no cameras were pointed in the location where Evans was struck.

So far, police said no witnesses have stepped forward and police do not have a description on the vehicle hit Evans.

Evans’ dog was not injured in the accident.  The dog is being returned to Evans’ family in Minnesota.
