Update: St. Louis Trucking Company Owner Sentenced To 33 Months In Prison For Shorting Drivers’ Pay

Road Crew Shorted In Pay

In September, the owner of a St. Louis trucking company was found guilty of 10 felony counts of making a false statement.

Last week, William “Pat” Clark, 40, owner of Clark Trucking and Excavation LLC, was sentenced to 33 months in prison for filing false payroll information to the Missouri Department of Transportation.

Clark was accused and convicted of submitting fraudulent paperwork for a federally funded freeway project. The paperwork stated that Clark was paying his employees $33.45 per hour — the required prevailing wage– when in fact, Clark was only paying his employees $15 an hour.

Clark’s company was paid $1.6 million by the Missouri Department of Transportation for the work his company did.

In addition to the 33-month sentence, Clark has been ordered to pay $273,000 to the drivers his company shorted.
