Watch as this heroic Oregon, TriMet driver comes to a quick halt – just in time to stop an unsupervised toddler walking dangerously close to the street!

Bill Clark, the driver of the bus, doesn’t hesitate to run to the boy’s aid and bring him safely onto the bus while he notifies the police.

According to Clark, the boy was unresponsive until he thought to offer him some hot chocolate and a cookie while they waited for the authorities.

Fortunately, the 2-year-old boy was quickly reunited with his father who had just reported him missing.

Police say that the man works the night shift and had been sleeping when the boy escaped from their apartment. The mother had already left for work that day. The parents have been visited by DHS and have been advised to install child locks to prevent incidents like this one from happening in the future.

Clark has been driving for TriMet for 6 years.

Great work, driver!
