Jonnie Cassens is a 38-year-old truck driver who moved to the North Dakota oil fields after unsuccessfully searching for decent work on the West Coast. She was able to find a job there as a round-the-clock special-delivery driver when rigs and pump jacks break down.
Jonnie is currently living and working in a field that’s almost complete dominated by men, and surviving on a decent salary that’s being eaten away by an unbelievably high cost of living. Here’s her story:
