The Missouri DOT’s Kansas City District is in the process of reviewing an LRAD – ‘acoustic device’ as a piece of a work zone safety tool. The implementation of the ‘acoustic devices’ has been postponed for 2014.
However, they will be tested during the spring during slow-moving work – like striping. More research will be conducted by MoDOT in the near future.
