Highway 67 at U.S. 85 near Sedalia, Colorado is expected to be closed until late tonight (Friday night) due to a train derailment.
A projectile axle resulting from a Colorado BNSF train derailment caused a close-call for motorists in Douglas County yesterday (near Highway 67 in Sedalia) around 1:30 p.m.

As the surveillance video below shows, the axle – which weighs nearly one ton, hurdles down a hill! The axle narrowly misses a pickup truck, and speeds towards a gas station before reaching it’s final resting place. A total of 17 train cars were derailed.
It is not yet known what caused the train to derail.
