Volvo’s New River Valley assembly plant in Dublin, Virginia today debuted the 2014 Ride for Freedom memorial truck.
The Ride for Freedom truck will travel with a motorcade of 175 motorcycles from the plant to the U.S. Capital over the Memorial Day weekend. Volvo’s New River Valley employees have participated in the Run for the Wall motorcycle rally for more than 20 years. The ride honors this who were KIA or MIA.
Each year, UAW Local 2069 and NRV employees design the custom graphics for the tribute truck. This year’s truck is a Volvo VNL 670. The graphics were designed to pay tribute to prisoners of war and those missing in action, as well as salute to all military service members.
