Walmart Heart Helps Drivers Give Back

Published:

More than 100 Walmart drivers freely offer their time to lift the spirits of children with chronic medical conditions or special needs.

With the support of the Walmart Corporation, the drivers donate their time to deliver gifts, school supplies and cheer to children across the country.

Walmart Heart is a volunteer program that was started by a Walmart driver who wanted to help children with medical issues.  Walmart Heart drivers visit the homes of many of the children and offer them the “truck ride of a lifetime” and many of the children are made honorary drivers for a day.

According to the Walmart Heart site, more than 100 drivers participate in the program. If you’re interested in participating, information can be found at http://walmartstores.com/AboutUs/234.aspx.

“If you’ll just participate in this program one time, you’ll get the feeling that I have right now.” a Walmart Hart driver tearfully said.  “You can’t hold it back.  Real men cry, and I put the challenge out to all my fellow drivers to come and be a part of this.  Just be a part of one, because if you’re ever a part of one, you’ll want to be a part of two and three and four, and it won’t matter that you’re not getting paid to do it, because the pay is right here.”
Great job, Walmart Heart drivers!  You make us proud!
