Weinrich Driver Reaches 3.5 Million Milestone

Published:

Driver, Gary Teel, reached 3.5 million ‘spotless’ miles during his 25-year career at Weinrich Truck Line Inc., last week!

On his return trip to the Weinrich terminal (from dropping off a honey load Wednesday, September 3rd), he received a warm welcome!

A truck ordered to Teel’s specifications was presented to him in recognition of his loyalty to the company and flawless record.

Teel was presented with a ‘gold amber pearl’ 2015 Freightliner Coronado featuring a 505-HP Detroit engine, 13 speeds, and air-disk brakes! The best part? – It’s all his for the remainder of his employment with Weinrich!

In addition, Teel’s getting a refrigerator, television, microwave, carpeted sleeper, and for the first time in his four-decade long driving career: heated seats!

Teel has been driving for Weinrich since 1988, and a full time over-the-road truck driver since 1974! He estimates that he’s driven about 4 million miles.

During an interview with the WCF Courier, Teel shared his most memorable piece of advice from a veteran driver:

“I remember an old truck driver telling me years ago that when you see a vehicle approach from, say, a gravel road, you need to think of the worst thing that driver can do and prepare for it.”

Additionally: Gary has been nominated for the Iowa Motor Truck Association: ‘Driver of the Year’ award.

– Great work, driver!
