What States Have the Most Dangerous Highways?

Published:

Divers, you see more of the country than nearly anyone else.  You could probably teach geography teachers a thing or two, and you certainly know where to find the best and worst roads in America.

Do you agree with Car Insurance Comparison’s list of Most Dangerous Highways?

Each state was scored in 6 categories (50 being the most dangerous and 1 being the safest) and added everything together to determine the final order. The 6 categories they used were:

  • Interstate Speeding Fatalities per Miles of Interstate
  • Percent of Drivers without Seat Belts
  • Highway Bridges Rated Obsolete or Deficient
  • Highway Deaths per 1,000 Highway Miles Traveled
