A 1-year-old boy was killed last night around 10:30 p.m. after he was hit by a truck at a truck stop in southern Texas.
A spokesman for Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said that the child was traveling with his family in a big rig, which stopped at the Pilot Travel Center for fuel. The child’s father was fueling up the truck as the child ran across the parking lot toward the store.
Another truck driver leaving the fueling bay did not see the child and hit him.
EMTs responded, but they were not able to save the child. The child was pronounced dead on the scene.
Authorities are investigating the tragic incident, but it is being treated as an accident and they do not expect charges to be filed.
