Alabama Flatbed Carrier Merges With Daseke Inc.

Published:

Monroeville, Alabama-based flatbed carrier Hornady Transportation has merged with Daseke Inc.

Hornady Transportation’s terminal is based in Birmingham. The company has a fleet of 230 tractors and 325 flatbed trailers. Hornady primarily hauls building products and steel.

Hornady was founded in 1928 and is currently under the leadership of Chris Hornady.

“By joining with Don Daseke and our new sister companies, I know we will continue on with a people-first tradition,” Chris Hornady said. “We are excited to join forces with Daseke, because our philosophies are a mirror image.”

“We continue to grow with elite flatbed and specialty carriers,” said Don Daseke, CEO and chairman of Daseke. “They’re cut from the same cloth as our other companies. Hornady is a well-regarded, third-generation family business with an enviable safety record. They care about their people and love this industry. It’s exciting to have them on board,”

In July, Bulldog Hiway Expresses also merged with Daseke.
