The Gemini Effect

By Chuck Grossart

The Gemini Effect

The Gemini Effect has a 5-star customer rating.

“A single raindrop opens a Pandora’s box of horrors when the spawn of perverse genetic research performed during World War II – refined by Cold War enemies and perfected by nature – are unleashed on an unsuspecting world. By dawn only a dead city remains, eerily quiet and still except for the mutant beasts who hide from the light, multiply, and await the shadows of day’s end,” the book’s synopsis states.

The book’s protagonist, Carolyn Ridenour, is a biowarfare specialist.  She’s sent to investigate nocturnal otherworldly creatures.  She barely escapes the hardy creatures, but thanks to Colonel Garrett Hoffman, a who lost a mass of his troops to a mutant army, she was freed.

Carolyn and Garrett join forces to stop the plague.

Dead Wake

By Erik Larson

Dead Wake Erik Larsen is a number-one New York Times best-selling author who rose to literary stardom with his book Devil in the White City.

Larsen specializes in historical fiction. Dead Wake brings to life the tragic sinking of the Lusitania.

The ship was traveling from New York to Liverpool and was transporting “a record number of children and infants.”

The ship’s captain believed it was safe for a civilian ship to travel the war zone, however, German submarines were less selective about their targets.

Dead Wake is said to bring to life the passengers and the crew of the doomed ship.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the disaster.
