Court Supports Trucker Lawsuit Against Excessive New York Tolls

New York chip shortage blamed on major Frito-Lay truck driver pay cut

A federal court sided with a group of truckers who say that New York’s tolls are excessive and unconstitutional by reinstating a lawsuit that was dismissed by a lower court.

The lawsuit was brought against the New York State Thruway Authority by three trucking companies and their trade association.

The lawsuit claims that high tolls increase prices for consumers while reducing profits for truckers. The suit also claims that toll revenue is unfairly used to maintain the New York Canal System.
