Details Emerge In Deceased Truck Driver Accused of Sexual Assault Case

The truck driver who was accused of sexual assault and later found deceased in his truck has been identified as 44-year-old Dushon Lyte Sr.

Lyte is from Kentucky and so far, authorities have been unable to make contact with his relatives.

On August 4, 2015, a North Bend, Washington Travel Centers of America employee noticed a bruised and battered woman near the truck stop’s showers. The employee “knew something was wrong,” according to the Seattle Times.  The police were notified.

The woman told police a truck driver had sexually assaulted her. Police learned the truck was owned by CRST.  CRST, the police and the Washington State Patrol worked to locate Lyte’s truck. They were able to track the truck’s GPS to a Love’s truck stop 45 miles away in Fife.

Police found the driver, Lyte, deceased in his truck.

At this time, Lyte’s death remains under investigation. An autopsy has been performed but the results of the autopsy will not be available for several weeks. Authorities say that it appears Lyte may have died as the result of a medical issue.

Lyte’s DNA will be submitted into the national law enforcement’s database to see if he’s linked to any prior unsolved sexual assault cases.
