Near Oxnard, California, a passenger train collided with a truck, sending multiple people to the hospital. At this time, four people are reported as critically injured. Authorities reported that 28 of the 51 passengers were taken to the hospital with injuries.
Dangerous Accident Derails Train
The collision caused the truck to catch fire and led to the derailing of three of the Metrolink cars. The truck burned so badly that the metal frame was the only thing left.The truck driver fled the scene, but was later found nearly a mile from the scene of the accident and arrested.
California authorities later discovered that the driver made a wrong turn onto the train tracks and became stuck.
