Woman Runs Red Light & Hits Trailer, Driver Identified

UPDATE: A source close to R.E. Garrison has informed us that the accident involved an R.E. Garrison trailer but the truck driver in fact drove for TJ Stidham out of Plant City FL. Our source also reports the unfortunate news that Ms. Swindle has passed away.

Police have identified the truck driver involved in a red light running accident around 6 a.m. on Monday morning in Lake Wales, Florida.

Woman In Critical Condition After Running a Red Light

68-year-old Polly Swindle ran a red light and struck the side of an 18-wheeler. The driver of the truck did not stop after the collision. Swindle suffered broken ribs and bleeding from the brain and spleen as a result of the accident.

Driver Comes Forward

Authorities spent Monday seeking information about the driver. On Tuesday, the driver and his company contacted the police. Driver Ronnie Henry of the R.E. Garrison Trucking Co. stepped forward after seeing a video of the accident. Henry said that his truck was fully loaded and because of this he did not notice the impact. Henry also told police that very little damage was incurred by his truck.

Swindle remains in critical condition in the hospital. No charges have been filed in the incident.
