Tonight through Sunday, the Missouri Highway Patrol will be heavily enforcing traffic along I-70.
The enhanced enforcement effort, dubbed “Operation C.A.R.E”, means that every available Highway Patrol officer will be patrolling I-70, both to aggressively enforce traffic laws and to help drivers who have been involved in crashes. Troopers will be assigned to 20-mile intervals along I-70.
In addition to I-70, troopers will also be patrolling I-35, I-44, and I-55, as well as U.S. Highways 60 and 63.
Vehicle crashes killed or injured a person every 12.6 minutes last Thanksgiving weekend in Missouri.
