Driver Dead After Truck Plunges Into Louisiana River

Early this morning, divers found the body of a driver whose truck plunged into the Pearl River in Slidell, Louisiana.

At this time, few details have been released, though the Louisiana State Police are calling the incident a “multi vehicle fatal hit and run.”

According to the Sun Herald, on Tuesday night, multiple vehicles were involved in an accident on westbound Interstate 10. One of the trucks involved in the accident crashed through a guardrail on the westbound side.

The truck came to rest in the Pear River between the two bridges. One truck that was involved in the incident has been removed from the scene.  There is no word on that driver’s condition at this time.

Louisiana State Police have posted video from the scene on Twitter.
