A man died early today after reportedly leaping over a highway guardrail and running in front of a truck near Paris, Tennessee.
Missouri truck driver Phillip Harden was traveling north on Highway 79 when 20-year-old Christopher Owen threw himself into the path of his truck, according to police. Owen was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Henry County sheriff said that a note in Owen’s pocket confirmed that the act was suicide.
While investigating the fatal incident, the Tennessee Highway Patrol also gave Harden’s truck a Level One inspection on site.
